Where We Are In Devizes
The Gatehouse is in Wick Lane, a quiet residential road in Devizes and is easily reached by car, bike or on foot. We are on the South side of town, just off the A360 Salisbury Road. Set in rolling Wiltshire Countryside, Devizes is in the centre of the County. Within the town, there is the famous Kennet & Avon Canal, with the amazing Caen Hill locks.
Devizes is 25 miles North of Salisbury, famous for its Cathedral and the Georgian City of Bath is also 25 miles away, to the West. The stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury are close by and Avebury Manor as featured in BBC documentary 'The Manor Reborn' is only a 15 - 20 minute drive away. Plus the National Trust village and Abbey at Lacock are a 20 minute drive. These are just a few of the things to be enjoyed by locals and visitors to Devizes alike.
